WELCOME!

Thank you for taking the time and passing by. This blog is for people in search of answers and also for people who are just curious. My name is Gloria and I have been living with Brachymetatarsia (a short toe) for almost 13 years, this is not something I was born with, my family and I started to notice the change when I was about 11 years old. And like a lot of you when the change started to happen we didnt know what it might be, but we just let it be. As time passed I could no longer wear the shoes that I wanted to wear for fear of being mad fun of. In no time I became an expert at hiding them when I was in public; I would wear socks all the time, finding the right shoe to hide the toes, when summer rolled around water shoes were my best friends. I never felt comfortable enough to just let them be. Only around my family and even that was still a little iffy I was always cautious not to show my toes too much.

All that will soon change this year, I decided to have corrective surgery. So you can say the main purpose of this blog is to provide anyone who is interested with a daily account of what the recovery period is like after having corrective surgery for brachymetatarsia. I know first hand how frustrating it is trying to find information about our condition, let alone the recovery period of the surgery because there is nothing to let us know what we are really getting ourselves into. So this is for all of you looking to find out.  :)

Again thank you for taking the time to pass by.
